Dataflows In a modern business the union between its business processes and its IT is key. It is this which constitutes a Business Service. In general terms, a business service can be a combination of many different types of asset and resource including equipment, products, manpower, contracts, policies, security, health & safety, software, hardware and IT infrastructure. The exact combination really depends on what your business does. But, more often than not, the one common thread that links all of these assets and resources is data flow. These assets and resources are either providers of data, consumers of data or provide the conduit through which the data can flow. People provide and consume data daily, as do applications and systems. Hardware and cables act as conduits through which data flows: between desks, through office networks, across the internet, though deep sea cables and via satellites. Dataflow is at the heart of 21st century business. The Stroma® Dataflow module enables you to model, analyse, value and report all the dataflows that underpin your business services. In conjunction with the Stroma® Modeller, the Stroma® Dataflow module enables you to model individual dataflows and apply cost metrics to them. It applies formulae and accurately costs, values and measures the combination of resources that support dataflows. Download more about Stroma® Dataflow module here.
